You may have seen many of your favorite outdoor events, festivals, and farmer's markets cancelled this Spring and Summer. These are the festivals where the bulk of Forai products are currently sold.
That means that—to survive as an organization beyond COVID-19—we have temporarily and significantly scaled back and furloughed several staff.
We will continue activities including sewing classes, English practice, seeking employment placements for skilled sewers, and refugee advocacy. We will also continue to carry out custom sewing and jewelry making, which is pre-ordered before production.
We will wait until we can resume normal sales and re-introduce fuller efforts in income generation. We are also seeking to increase online and wholesale partnerships—but these efforts take time to build.
